Auto accidents cause numerous deaths every year. Many of these deaths could be easily avoided if motorists simply slowed down and paid a little more attention to conditions around them.

There are several ways to avoid accidents. One such way is instead of waiting until the last minute and rushing to get where you are going, leave a little earlier and take your time.

Don’t run red lights. This causes many accidents as people hit the gas to make it through that light and get sideswiped by oncoming traffic.

When it’s raining and the roads are wet slow down and use caution. When it rains the roads get wet therefore making them slippery and making it harder to stop.

Check your brakes and tires often. Faulty brakes and worn out tires can prevent your vehicle from stopping properly causing an accident. By checking both regularly and keeping them in good working order you can prevent both from being a danger.

Use your turn signals every time you make a turn or change lanes. By doing this you let people behind you know that you are making a turn or changing lanes thus preventing being hit from the rear. Also check your lights regularly to ensure that they are in good working order.
