One of the cleanest ways to generate power for the appliances in your home is through solar energy. Now no-one is going to kid you and say that this is the answer to all the worlds problems in terms of energy consumption and finding a replacement for fossil fuels and those energies that harm the environment; the technology in terms of solar energy is still very much in it’s infancy and has not been properly developed to realise its full potential however this does not mean that you cannot benefit from it right now.
Even if you live in an area that does not get sunshine 365 days of the year that does not mean that you have to miss out. What many people are now doing is partially changing to solar energy by getting panels from companies like Vivint while keeping themselves hooked up to the electrical grid. By staying connected to their traditional source of power it does not indicate any Vivint rip off and the home owners who do go down this route can experience some fantastic benefits in term of savings and fossil fuel consumption.
If you can pay for your panels outright then fantastic and they will last you a great number of years (around 30 in most cases) however if you cannot afford to splash out for the price of the panels right away then have no fear because PPA schemes are around to help you out. In these schemes you do not actually pay for the panels themselves but what you do is pay for the energy that you use which is generated by the panels. This works out well cheaper than traditional electricity and if you can even use a bit of solar power in your home you will be making a saving on your energy bills.
